Hypnotherapy
“Why, despite all my efforts, do I still struggle to function the way I’d like to?”
“Why does this keep happening to me?”
“Why do I constantly feel anxious, no matter what I do?”
If you find yourself asking these questions, the problem is probably not a lack of knowledge, motivation or willpower.
More likely, your nervous system has been stuck in survival mode for far too long.
Why hypnotherapy might be the right choice for you?
Hypnotherapy may be the right place to start if your difficulties affect more than just one area of your life.
Perhaps you feel constantly tense and on edge. You struggle to relax, switch off or stop overthinking. Even when everything seems fine on the outside, your body behaves as though it's constantly waiting for something to go wrong.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy helps when your nervous system has been operating in survival mode for an extended period of time.
It may be helpful if you're experiencing:
- chronic stress
- anxiety
- panic attacks
- intrusive thoughts
- sleep difficulties
- low self-esteem
- a strong inner critic
- anxiety-driven procrastination
- IBS
- chronic pain
- PTSD
- phobias
- OCD
- addictions
- eating difficulties
- smoking cessation
- tension headaches
- persistent muscle tension
- poor concentration
- long-term emotional overwhelm.
What does session look like?
What does Solution Focused Hypnotherapy look like?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy isn’t about talking endlessly about your problems or analysing your past for years.
It’s a calm, structured process that combines solution-focused conversation, neuroscience-based psychoeducation, hypnosis and practical steps that you can apply in everyday life.
Together, we focus on what you need right now to feel calmer, stronger and to begin noticing meaningful progress.
We don’t need to revisit your past in detail unless it’s genuinely helpful for understanding the context of your current difficulties.
Our focus is on the present, your strengths and where you want to go next.
1
Understanding what's happening
Psychoeducation is an important part of the process.
I’ll explain why your brain and nervous system may be responding with anxiety, tension, racing thoughts, procrastination, difficulty relaxing or repeating the same patterns over and over again.
I’ll also help you understand how to reduce stress and support your nervous system more effectively.
Understanding what’s happening allows you to replace self-criticism with self-understanding.
And once you understand the mechanism, you can begin changing it.
2
Focusing on what's possible now
In Solution Focused Hypnotherapy we don’t only ask:
“Why am I struggling?”
We also ask:
- What’s already working?
- What’s helping, even a little?
- What would be the first sign that things are beginning to improve?
- What’s one small step you could take before our next session?
That step doesn’t have to be big.
In fact, that’s exactly why it works.
Sometimes it’s making one decision.
Sometimes it’s having a conversation you’ve been avoiding.
Sometimes it’s allowing yourself to rest without guilt.
Or simply noticing what’s going well instead of automatically focusing on what’s wrong.
Small steps matter because they’re how the brain learns new patterns.
3
Using hypnosis
The second part of each session is hypnosis—a natural state of deep relaxation and focused attention.
You remain in control throughout.
You don’t fall asleep.
Nothing happens against your will.
A hypnotic trance feels similar to those moments just before falling asleep, becoming deeply absorbed in a book or daydreaming.
It’s a state in which your body can relax and your mind becomes more open to learning new, healthier patterns of thinking and responding.
For many clients, it’s also the deepest state of relaxation they’ve experienced in years.
4
Tracking your progress
At the end of each session, we use a tool called CORP, which helps us measure how you’re feeling, your overall wellbeing and your satisfaction with different areas of your life.
Rather than relying purely on how things feel in the moment, we’re able to monitor your progress over time.
Many of my clients enjoy seeing their progress on the graphs because they can clearly see changes that they might otherwise overlook.
5
Strengthening change between sessions
Hypnotherapy doesn’t stop when the session ends.
Between sessions, you’ll listen to your Sleep Track, a relaxation recording designed to support your nervous system and reinforce the work we’re doing together.
Depending on your needs, I may also suggest:
- breathing techniques to help regulate your nervous system;
- simple mindfulness practices;
- strategies for managing your inner critic;
- reframing unhelpful thoughts and beliefs;
- keeping a positive journal;
- learning self-hypnosis.
The goal isn’t to give you another to-do list.
It’s to equip you with practical tools that help you feel better and continue making progress between sessions.

What we don't do
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a partnership.
I provide the knowledge, structure, tools and safe space for change.
You engage with the process, listen to your recordings between sessions and gradually begin to notice yourself responding differently.
Calmer. Kinder. More like yourself.
- We don't spend years analysing your past.
- We don't search for hidden trauma where there isn't any.
- We don't explore past lives.
- I don't interpret dreams.
- I don't practise stage hypnosis.
- I don't take control of your mind.
And I don’t promise magical change without your active participation.
